Snapshot About Me

Dr.S.Ram Mohan, IRAS, Financial Adviser & Chief Accounts Officer, ICF is a multi faceted personality. He had six Post Graduate degrees to his credit including MA(Sanskrit, Tamil and Economics and Strategic Studies) and an MBA. He is also a Ph.D. in the rare subject of Defence and Strategic Studies. He is a scholar in Spanish with an Advanced Diploma in it.

He was recruited through I.A.S. Examination in 1973. During his probationary training days itself, he had proved his excellence. He was awarded "Best Performance" medal in the L.B.S. National Academy of Administration, Mussorrie, which is the premier institution for training Administrative Officers. He had also been awarded the "Best Performance" Medal at Railway Staff College, Baroda also.

During the year 2003, he was chosen for the prestigious award of Fellowship of Computer Society of India, again the first officer from I.R.A.S. to be given this honour. (The previous awardees include Dr.Sam Pitroda, Shri.S.M.Krishna, etc.)

Recently he has also won international Honour when he was awarded the "PRACHYA VIDYA PARANGATA" Award at Houston - USA by the WAVES organisation - an organisation of distinguished Academicians and Intellectuals from several countries.

He has also been an eminent speaker on various subjects in various forums. He was invited by the Government of Sri Lanka to speak at the International Conference on Buddhism as a part of its Golden Jubilee of its Independence. He had also been invited to speak in many Universities abroad like Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, etc. He was also the speaker chosen by the Government of India to represent India in the WAVES conference on the Intellectual Traditions of the world at Washington DC in 2004. He had also been invited at the World Congress of Religions. He is also the editor of two cultural and philosophical journals in English "The Mountain Path" and in Tamil "Ramanodayam". He has also been invited by the Indian Council of Philosophical Research to be a contribution to the Volume on Indian Philosophy. He has been a speaker on other subjects like Management, Philosophy, Computer, etc. He has also co-organised the "Awakening Indians to India" Quiz in which 3 lakhs students participated, which has been entered in the Guinness Book of Records. He has lectured in the many countries of the world. He had recently chaired over a session at WAVES conference Houston, Texas and delivered a talk on " Governance, Organisation and Knowledge Management in Indian Heritage". He had also served lecture engagement in various centres in Washington, New York, Fulton, Fairfax, Columbia and Connecticut. He had also given talks and participated on discussion in electronic media.
